Play School is Australia's most popular and watched children's television program. To celebrate half a century of this much-loved Australian television program Australia Post has prepared for issuing two special stamps and bright miniature sheet that StampNews.com hurries to introduce to our readers' attention.

Play School is an Australian Gold Logie award-winning educational television show for children produced by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. It is the longest-running children's show in Australia, and the second-longest-running children's show in the world. An estimated 80% of pre-school children under six watch the program at least once a week.

The stamps and minisheet feature three iconic and enduring aspects of the show that all three generations of Australian fans will relate to: the main cast of toys, the Windows and the Play School theme song, "There's a Bear in There" by Richard Connolly and Dr Rosemary Milne.

On the stamps, Jemima and Humpty are at a party, as a reference to the 50-year celebrations. Big Ted and Little Ted are ready to play ball, to highlight play and play-based learning. The stamps feature the opening and closing lyrics of the theme song, which are then 'filled in' a little further on the minisheet.
