StampNews.com got to know that San Marino Post is to release a set of stamps celebrating the World Teacher's Day. The issue consists of two items that are to be put into circulation on the 16th of June.
The set shows some stylized pupils listening to a teacher holding a book in his hand. They are standing on a pile of books, which means that roots and knowledge come from the same fertile soil. The designer of the set dedicated to the World Teachers' Day is Guido Scarabottolo, a graphic artist and illustrator who has worked for the major Italian editors, the RAI network, the main Italian advertising companies and important firms.
His illustrations have been exhibited in many shows in Italy and abroad. The World Teachers' Day, hold annually on October 5th, was decided by Unesco in 1993, since on that date in 1966 a special Convention took place. It was organized by Unesco and Oil (Labour International Organization), with the aim to create a "Recommendation" addressed to the Governments and to the families for the implementation of teachers' work conditions.
A grateful homage to the teachers who help the intellectual and social development of the new generations.
