StampNews.com is glad to inform that Belgium Post produced a special series of stamps to honor Queen Fabiola of Belgium. The series consists of five stamps were released and put into circulation on the 26th of January.

Queen Fabiola of Belgium was the wife of Baudouin, King of the Belgians. She was Queen consort of the Belgians for 33 years, between her wedding in 1960 and her husband's death in 1993. The couple were unable to have children, and the crown then passed to her husband's younger brother, King Albert II.

Queen Fabiola of the Belgians was a Spanish aristocrat who was working as a nurse when she was secretly selected as a royal bride. Born Fabiola de Mora y Aragon in Madrid, she was the widow of King Baudouin and reigned as queen consort from 1960 until his death in 1993.
