The most popular stamp series of the year 2014 according to our riders` opinion was released by USPS. This stamp series got the greatest number of votes, reviews and likes&shares. This stamp series features the posters of different circus organizations such as Barnum and Bailey, Sells-Floto Circus, Ringling Brothers, Al G. Barnes Circus and Hagenbeck-Wallace Circus. The images depicted on this stamp release include clowns, acrobats and various circus animals such as elephants, tigers etc. The pane selvage on which all the stamps are placed depicts an image of the entrance to a circus taken by famous circus photographer Edward J. Kelty in 1937.

The second place according to the number of reviews and votes has gone to a set of stamps commemorating the important historical figures of Austria. On June 28, 1914, in the Bosnian’s capital Sarajevo came to the fateful assassination of the Austrian Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie Duchess of Hohenberg.
The political objective of the assassination was to break off Austria-Hungary’s south-Slav provinces so they could be combined into a Yugoslavia. The assassins’ motives were consistent with the movement that later became known as Young Bosnia. The assassination led directly to the First World War.

The first issue that has its peculiarities was released by German Post celebrating the victory of German National Football team in FIFA 2014. (original news)

The peculiarity of this stamp is that five millions copies of stamps commemorating Germany`s soccer victory were printed before the final game even took place.
