Every year, members of the Lethbridge Philatelic Society look forward to the club's annual auction meeting in May. According to info received by StampNews.com this year's auction will be held on the 14th of May.
This is a great opportunity to pick up philatelic material for collections, often at very reasonable prices. Members of other local clubs are invited to come and bid on the lots, and also to submit material they would like to sell.
It is a time for members to go through their collections and dispose of unwanted stamps and to bid on those stamps which they need.
Recently, some old stamp collections and philatelic materials have been donated to the club to be disposed of. There are boxes packed with hundreds of loose stamps and a number of old stamp albums. Some of this material has been sold at mini-auctions during the regular club meetings, but much of it is kept until the main auction in May.
Members of the public are very welcome to attend this auction. It is an opportunity for those "dormant" collectors to rekindle their enthusiasm in stamp collecting. Or perhaps an old collection lot will spark an interest in a young person to take up this wonderful hobby. Whatever the reason might be, everyone is welcome. Auction lots are plentiful and sell for just a few dollars and the bidding is fast, furious and fun.
