1 votedvote is glad to inform that Brazilian Post issued a special stamp celebrating the creation of Strong Bread produced by Professor Munir Chamone. It was released on the 14th of October and is now available for purchasing.

The stamp contains the image of three children accompanied by the inscription "Strong Bread - 25 years - Federal University of Minas Gerais."

History of Strong Bread:

It is responsible for the nutrition of about 13 000 children in Minas Gerais. The Strong Bread has been produced for 25 years. It is a mixture of rice, beans, flour, cornmeal, oil, ferrous sulfate (to combat anemia) and vitamin A (which protects the mucous membranes) and B12 (good for bones , the central nervous system).

The mixture has also been used by Ghana and Nigeria in combating malnutrition of children in these countries. Currently, nutritious flour is produced to make cookies, cake, porridge etc.
