The Ecuadorian Philatelic Association in conjunction with Correos del Ecuador, presented on Thursday, May 22 a new postage stamp celebrating "World Day of Philately". The event was held at the headquarters of the Philatelic Association and attended by many activists.
The importance of philatelic activity and the need for the postal issues became to develop thanks to the commitment of General Manager of Ecuador Post Dr. Williams Saud Reich. His administration has given special attention to the philatelists and postal issues.
During his speech, Dr. Saud emphasized the responsibility of collecting stamps, he also stated that philately "is the soul of the postal business, which goes beyond the business where attractive colorful cartoons and postal material are traded and exchanged; it is an opportunity to exchange culture and knowledge, join and make friends with the same interest."
The issue consists of 1 stamp with a face value of U.S. 2.00, also the 200,000 items were printed by the Military Geographic Institute. Stamps can be purchased at all the agencies and branches of Ecuador Post nationwide.
