According to info got by StampNews.com, Sweden Post has released a series of new stamps depicting comfortable chairs produced by famous designers. These new SEK 12 stamps are designed for heavier domestic letters or international greetings. The issue was is to be introduced on the 21st of August.
The popular lathe Windsor-style chair, Lilla Åland, by Carl Malmsten is one of them. Designing a chair is a popular challenge among designers and architects.
This chair received the Excellent Swedish Design award in 2002.
The other stamps in the Sit Comfortably booklet picture the following chairs: Lilla Aland, a Windsor style chair created by Carl Malmsten; Lamino, an easy chair by Yngve Ekstrom; Cinema, a small armchair by Gunilla Allard; and an aluminum armchair by Mats Theselius.
Each stamp is denominated 14 krone to pay the international first-class letter rate.
