StampNews.com got to know that Royal Philex '14, organized for the 70th Consecutive Year was held on October 7, 8 and 9 at the National Art Gallery in Sri Lanka. Many historically important and valuable collections of stamps, coins, first day covers and postal journals etc. were on display throughout the three days. The third day (October 9) was named as the World Postal Day.

The Royal College Philatelic Club prepared various activities for young philatelists to enhance their collection, by having many promotions such as a 'Stamp Give Away Hour' and a raffle draw etc. This three day exhibition also deviated from the traditional exhibition style, with innovations such as a photo booth and quite a few strategic activities planned throughout the three days, which indeed made this a public event.

The organizers extended their invitations to neighboring schools to take part in the 70th Royal Philex, which was proving to be a huge success, with many schools with or without a Philatelic Club showing great enthusiasm towards this exhibition.
