A presentation of the joint edition of postage stamps between Bulgaria and Russia on the occasion of the 135th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between the two countries was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Russian Federation, the Embassy in Moscow announced.
The ceremony was attended by Bulgarian Ambassador to Russia, Boyko Kotsev, and Oleg Dukhovnitsky, head of the Federal Agency of Communications Rossvyaz.
Mr Kotsev delivered a speech, in which he emphasized the century-long traditions in the relations between Bulgaria and Russia.
"Fort this reason the inking of the agreement on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Russia in 1879 was a logical end of whole chain of consecutive friendly events in the history of Bulgarian-Russian cooperation," he stated.
The postage stamp was put into circulation on July 7, when the 135th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Russia was celebrated, after a solemn ceremony during the visit of Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to the capital Sofia.
