In 1643, King Louis XIII gave the Comte of Carlades to Prince Honore II under the terms of the 1641 Treaty of Peronne. Next May, H.S.H. Prince Albert II and H.S.H. Princess Charlene of Monaco will pay an official visit to these ancient fiefdoms.
The block by Monaco Post comprises two stamps: one representing the House of the Princes of Monaco at Vic-sur-Cere, where Prince Louis Ier stayed in 1668; the second depicting the Rocher de Carlat. This year marks the centenary of the date that the Rocher was handed over to Prince Albert Ier, and it still belongs to the Sovereign of Monaco.
