GRAND FAIR 2014: The 22nd Grande Bourse will take place on 7th December 2014 at the Espace Léo Ferré in Monaco. This international event brings together dealers and collectors in the fields of coins and postcards.
150th ANNIVERSARY OF THE BIRTH OF EUGENE FREY: The New National Museum of Monaco (Nouveau Musée National de Monaco) is this year exhibiting model opera sets, the result of collaboration between Alphonse Visconti and the artist and painter Eugène Frey. These “luminous sets” characterised the Monte-Carlo Opera between 1904 and 1924, and then again during the 1937–1938 season. The stamp depicts the projection equipment used for the production of Berlioz’s Damnation of Faust. The year 2014 marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of Eugène Frey, who was born in Brussels in 1864.
These issues will be on sale at the “Office des Timbres”, the “Musée des Timbres et des Monnaies”, the post offices and philatelic counters of the Principality, the Monaco stamp-dealers as well as the “Musée de la Poste” and the “Carré d’Encre” in Paris, France. They will be included, with other values, in the 2nd Part of the philatelic programme 2014 .
