According to the info got by StampNews.com on 30 August this year special stamps on occasion 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship will be introduced into circulation.

On 8 September 2008 the FIVB announced it has agreed a partnership deal for Poland to host the FIVB Men's World Championship in 2014.

"This will be the biggest and most beautiful sports event in the world, not only in volleyball but throughout the whole sports family," said FIVB Honorary Life President Dr. Rubén Acosta. "Poland – I'm sure about it – will make this championship very special."

It will be the first time Poland has hosted an FIVB World Championship. The Polish Volleyball Union said matches will be played in Kraków, Gdańsk, Wrocław,Katowice, Łódź and Bydgoszcz.

Volleyball in Poland has enjoyed a huge surge in popularity over the last few years. The Polish Men's team finished runners-up at the 2006 FIVB World Championships in Japan and a year later Katowice hosted one of the best-ever FIVB World League Final Rounds, with spectators filling out Spodek night after night.

The stamps were printed using offset, fluorescent paper. On this occasion, three FDC envelopes will be issued.
