150th Anniversary of birth of Konstantin Stanislavsky stamp from Russia

The Russian Post has issued a stampsheet to celebrate the 150th anniversary of birth of Konstantin Stanislavsky (1863-1938), theatre director, actor, and educator.

Konstantin Stanislavsky began his stage experience in 1877 in the family study group. In 1886 he was elected a member of the directorate and the treasurer of the Moscow branch of the Russian Musical Society and the allocated conservatory. Together with singer and teacher F. Komissarzhevsky and artist F. Sollogub Stanislavsky developed a project of the Moscow Society of Art and Literature, investing his personal finances in the project.
