Six of Jersey's coastal towers feature on the latest set of stamps by Jersey Post.
The stamps have an autumnal feel to them and each of the towers depicted is visually interesting due to its shape, location or modifications. This is the second issue in the 'Coastal Towers' series.
According to Philatelic Product Manager Mrs Melanie Gouzinis, "The history of Jersey's coastal towers reveals the island's defence weaknesses along, particularly, the east, south and west coast in previous centuries. Nowadays, some of the towers are painted to assist with navigation for local shipping, some have been integrated into private houses and others were built upon by the Germans during the Occupation of Jersey. All, however, make for dramatic stamp subjects which are very popular with our stamp collectors".
