To celebrate a remarkable 60 years of Queen Elizabeth II as Monarch of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of Her other Realms and Territories the Falkland Islands Post Office is issuing a special set of new stamps and a souvenir sheet.
Queen Elizabeth II is the longest lived and second longest reigning Monarch in British history next to Queen Victoria.
The four stamps depict images of Her Majesty taken during each of her very special Anniversary years:
27p Year of Accession, 1952
30p Silver Jubilee, 1977
70p Golden Jubilee, 2002
£1.71 Diamond Jubilee, 2012
The accompanying souvenir sheet £3 stamp shows a black and white photograph of Her Majesty taken as she arrived in Downing Street for a dinner given by Sir Winston Churchill in 1955. A contemporary photograph in the surround shows Queen Elizabeth II smiling as she visits Palm Paper in King's Lynn, Norfolk in February 2012. The mill provides all of the paper used by the national newspapers and much of that used by the regional press in the UK.
