For New Year 2012 stamps from Japan

The Japan Post has issued stamps celebrating the arrival of the New Year 2012. There is an old habit to exchange festive mails and cards for the New Year holiday. New Year stamps traditionally issued in Japan since 1935 are indispensable to maintain this tradition.

2012 is the year of Dragon, that's why the stamps illustrate toy dragons.

The lower stamps contain also the New Year donation lottery. Those who have the winning number will get a valuable prize.
