On 25 September 2011, in Legnago, Italy, Croatian Post received a special award at the 29th International philatelic competition for the sacred art on postage stamps entitled "San Gabriel".
Winners of this philatelic competition are selected annually by an international jury composed of eleven philatelists. Croatian Post got the Sacred Stamp Award for the stamp entitled "400 years of the Capuchins in Croatia" by Ariane Norsic in the category of special awards which proves that the Croatian Post is among the best in the world for stamps containing religious messages.
Danilo Bogon, the main organizer and coordinator of the international philatelic awards highlighted the exceptional quality of Croatian postage stamps in their visual communication. According to the jury's opinion, the stamp pack perfectly illustrates the dissemination of the Capuchin Order and the importance of the great confessor and priest Leopold Mandic in this process.
