The Southern 100 course features on a new stamp issue and an official presentation to club officials was held in June at the Pre-TT Classic Race meeting.
Geoff Corkish MBE MHK, Vice Chairman of Isle of Man Post Office, presented Southern 100 Club officials with the stamp image on canvas. The image is part of a comical new set of stamps designed by cartoonist Harold "Dusty" Miller.
A further presentation was made to Southern 100 and TT competitors Ryan Farquhar, Klaus Klaffenbock and Dan Sayle. They feature on a different set of stamps "The Centenary of the Mountain Circuit" and it seemed an ideal time to present them with framed sets of the stamps which feature the ten greatest TT races of all time.
Dusty Miller was a newspaper cartoonist between 1933 and 1962 and captured political and social issues in a way that text alone could not. Some cartoons would remain topical for generations and the new range of stamps feature six of his best works.
