The Philippine Postal Corporation (Philpost) came up with the Surgeonfish stamp.
Surgeonfish usually live in tropical seas, usually around coral reefs. Many of the species are brightly colored and popular for aquaria. The name "surgeonfish" is derived from their possessing erectable razor sharp spines called 'scalpels' at the base of their bodies just in front of the tail fin. These spines or scalpels can cut like a knife.
