1Malaysia Collection of stamps

For the first time, on August 31, 2009, the Post of Malaysia issued a set of five stamps (+ one souvenir sheet) to present the new "1Malaysia" concept envisioned by the current Prime Minister, Najib Tun Razak, in order that Malaysia can better confront the various challenges brought by globalization in the social, economic or political fields.

The second set of "1Malaysia" was issued on November 10, 2010. This new set of four stamps, entitled "From Culture to Future" reminds that cultural heritage, a symbol of the different ethnic groups of Malaysia, has to be preserved but also that investment in research and creative technologies will enable the country to bring a better future for its people.

These four stamps, designed by students of Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, combine thus traditional crafts with Malaysian high-tech achievements: kite ("Wau Bulan") and conquest of space, songket (traditional textiles) and Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC), woven basket and biotechnology, wood carving and modern buildings (Petronas towers).
