This latest set of postage stamps in the long running Through the Years series, which began in 2006, focuses on the various activities undertaken by Australians on long weekends - beginning with a beach weekend in the 1950s through to a skiing weekend in the 1990s.
The other activities featured in the stamps include fishing, camping, surfing and house-boating.
This stamp issue is accompanied by a prestige booklet, in which the stamps feature in unique blocks of four. The booklet also contains five postcards evoking long-weekend destinations at St Kilda beach, the Glasshouse Mountains, Surfers Point, the Murray River and Thredbo. A decorative gutter is also presented with this issue.
