Guernsey Post has issued a set of six stamps featuring six examples of Guernsey's natural beauty, historic buildings and heritage.
The National Trust of Guernsey is celebrating its 50th anniversary and is delighted that the Guernsey Post Office is marking this special year with an issue of stamps featuring lands and properties entrusted to the care of NTG. Moreover the stamps will be launched on the day of the Viaer Marchi - the main event in the Trust's calendar.
The Viaer Marchi is a snapshot of life back in the 1800's, with traditional craftsmen making Guernseys, copper cans, lobster pots, lace and many other products, and there are performances of traditional island dances and songs.
At this year's event there will be a Victorian style post office and postbox, where people can buy and send first day covers of these beautiful stamps and also buy presentation packs, which look quite splendid.
