A limited-edition stamp bearing the likeness of democracy icon Corazon Aquino went on sale for P7 each for the first time Tuesday for the letter-writing public and collectors alike.
Philippine Postal Corp. (PhilPost) launched the postage stamp in honor of the late former President at the Edsa Shrine after the noon Mass.
The launching coincided with the birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
PhilPost said it would be releasing only 70,000 pieces of the Se-tenant stamps, or two pieces of stamps that are joined together but bearing different designs.
This is the fourth stamp bearing Aquino's image issued by PhilPost. The first "Cory stamps" were released when she assumed office as president in 1986.
