Giuseppe Cali’s Nativity Painting At Luqa Parish Church In Forthcoming Stamp Issue

This year's set of Christmas stamps is being issued by Malta Post on Tuesday 20 November.

The set features details from one of Giuseppe Cali's paintings, The Nativity, one of the paintings found at St Andrew's parish church in Luqa.

On this occasion, this Christmas set is being issued as part of a joint issue with the Philatelic and Numismatic Bureau of the Vatican City. The Vatican will feature the same imagery as that shown on the Malta stamps. Another "first" for Malta is that the Vatican stamps have been printed by Messrs Printex Limited of Qormi.

The Malta stamps have face values of 8c / Euro 0.19, 16c / Euro 0.37, and 27c / Euro 0.63.
