Iceland: Old fishing boats

The traditional Icelandic fishing season commenced on January 2nd and ended on May 15th. All the fishing vessels depicted on the stamps were built in Iceland, each in its own distinctive style. Vordur PH 4, 67 BRT, built of oak in Reykjavik in 1947. Kari VE 47, 63 BRT, built of oak in Vestmannaeyjar in 1944. Saedis IS 67, 15 BRT, made of oak and beech in Isafirdi 1938. Gudbjorg NK 74, 39 BRT, built of oak in Neskaupstadur in 1948.
