The celebrity stamp series "My Aland" issued by the Aland Post continues with a captivating issue of Bjorn Borg, fivefold Wimbledon tennis champion 1976-1980.

Bjorn Borg, born in Sodertalje, Sweden, was the youngest player ever to participate in the Davis Cup tournament at the age of 15. He was world champion in 1978, 1979 and 1980 and has won a total of eleven Grand Slam titles. In 2000, Bjorn Borg was designated as Sweden's sportsman of the century, a distinction he himself values highly. During the last eight years, Bjorn Borg has frequently visited Aland together with his family. In addition, Bjorn Borg has taken part in a number of veteran tennis tournaments arranged in Aland in the late nineties.

The stamp shows Bjorn Borg standing on a rock, gazing out at sea. Available in the My Aland series is also a first day cover and a collector's sheet. The series of "My Aland" stamps has previously featured stamps designed by Lill Lindfors (2002), Mark Levengood (2003) and Mauno Koivisto (2004).
