Many Finns today spend their Christmas in cities, following their own family traditions. This is why this year's Christmas stamps, designed by graphic designer Klaus Welp, feature urban Christmas celebrations. The festive time is coming and this holiday inspires people from around the world to be better and kinder.
StampNews.com invites our readers to share the Christmas atmosphere by contemplating this special stamp issue introduced by Finish Post.
The subjects of the Christmas stamps by graphic designer Klaus Welp for 2015 are located in a city. The landscape-format Reflection stamp shows a child looking at a reflection from a mirror-like Christmas ornament. "My earliest memory of Christmas is of just such a moment next to the Christmas tree in our home", Klaus Welp recalls.
The portrait-format Christmas Street depicts a father and child collecting a Christmas tree. "Many people have strong memories of going out into the spruce forest in winter. More and more of us spend the holiday in cities and the urban expedition has become for many a Christmas tradition charged with expectation", says Welp. Welp has included a bright Christmas star in the sky on bothstamps as a reminder of the traditional Christmas story.
