StampNews.com is glad to inform that Denmark Post has released a special stamp to celebrate the 450th Anniversary of Herlufsholm. The issue was unveiled and put into circulation on the 14th of March.
The ten-stamp strip depicts the largest boarding school in Denmark ‒ Herlufsholm ‒ outside Næstved on southern Zealand. Post Danmark has marked the 450th anniversary of Herlufsholm with a stamp designed as a coat of arms with a ribbon encircling the images. The image at the top is a picture of the monastery building, one of the oldest buildings at Herlufsholm.
Below is a portrait of the founders, Herluf Trolle and Birgitte Gøye, as well as one of the three scallop shells which are also featured in Birgitte Gøye's coat of arms as symbols of the personal development undergone by the pupils during their time at Herlufsholm.
