This stamp celebrates an anniversary that ennobles the sense of human life. The Special Sports Federation of San Marino, founded in 1984, has 30 years' activity to its credit. A long history of sport competitions in San Marino and attendances at important events abroad under the supervision of the Special Olympics International Movement, founded by Eunice Kennedy Shriver in 1968, and F.S.S.S. is one of its members.
The aim of the Federation is the human, social and sport integration of many disabled athletes and this means agonistic competitions and ability to strike up empathic relations. The athletes have practised different and heterogeneous sports and have received prestigious awards during all the years of activity. The € 0.70 stamp designed by Stefania Saragoni shows the logo of the Federation, enriched with vivid colours. This logo is significant and contains an expression of achievement and revelation (the arms lifting from below through three passages) until reaching the community.
The issue is available for purchasing from 17th of May.
