As StampNews.com found out, the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) and Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) on the issuance of commemorative stamps marking the 100th Anniversary of Shell Petroleum in the country.
This important milestone in the history of petroleum industry in the Philippines will be depicted in commemorative stamps to be issued by PHLPost.
Shell's corporate presence in the Philippines dates back to 1914 when Shell organized a trading office in the Philippines. Business then largely involved the importation and sale of kerosene mainly for household use in Manila and outlying areas.
" We are extremely proud and honored to issue this 100th year commemorative stamps as the whole nation celebrate the significant contributions Pilipinas Shell Corporation has made to every Filipinos", Postmaster General Josie Dela Cruz said.
