The centenary of birth of musician Dorival Caymmi and Brazilian football were honored late in April with the release of commemorative postage stamps.
The label on the centenary of the Bahian singer and composer was launched on Wednesday (30th April) at the House of Music in Salvador. Reproduction of a photo of Dorival Caymmi, the label seeks to express the joy of the artist that gripped the Brazil with the lyricism of his songs. The issue has a print run of 360,000 units, the amount of R$1.20 each.
Brazilian football issue consists of a sheet of 24 stamps, with images in pencil and hand painted, depicting children, in stylized form, playing with a ball.
Characteristic landscapes of cities where World Cup games will be played in Brazil can be seen on the stamps. The total circulation of stamps in this issue is 720 thousand units, R$1.20 each.
