According to info got by StampNews.com, Dutch celebrity chefs Ramon Beuk, Ron Blaauw, Ronald Kunis and Niven Kunz presented the special Christmas edition of the Good Food Book on the 18th of November. PostNL will put this stamp issue into circulation in December.
In keeping with tradition, the stamps feature a series of colourful and joyful images to celebrate the holiday season.
"Both these stamps and the special Christmas edition of the Good Food Book are sure to get you in the holiday spirit right away. Sending Christmas cards is about reaching out to people and showing them that you care, which may be the best Christmas gift of all. Cards bring people closer together, a bit like sharing Christmas dinner with your loved ones.
We feel that giving this cookbook as a gift to people buying the December stamps really honours that tradition. The best part of this initiative is that we will be using the proceeds of the book to donate 640,000 school meals to children in Malawi. The project is coordinated by the World Food Programme of the United Nations, which we joined at the end of 2002", said Barry Husman, PostNL's Consumer Market Director.
