The post of French Polynesia issued a stamp to commemorate the coming Fifa Beach Soccer World Cup 2013.
The 7th edition of the Fifa Beach Soccer World Cup will be held in Tahiti from 18 to 28 September 2013. After the playoffs by confederations, 15 nations will win their ticket for this competition and fly to Tahiti, who qualifies automatically as host. This is the first time that a FIFA tournament is hosted in a Pacific island country.
The 32 matches will take place at Tahua To'ata stadium with seating for 3,600 spectators.
The event will be broadcast in about one hundred countries. Various shows will be organized by the local organizing committee in partnership with the local Government, the French Government, the Municipality of Papeete and the various local and international sponsors.
The Beach Soccer World Cup will also take place in an atmosphere of celebration. As a matter of fact, not only is the goal average exceptional (8.41 goals per match during the previous World Cup edition), Beach Soccer is the only FIFA sport where music and dance form an integral part of matches.
