New Year 2013 stamps from Japan

2 votedvote

The Japanese Post has issued a set of festive New Year stamps, two of them traditionally having additional donations of Y3 and presenting lottery coupons. The lottery raffles off valuable prizes such as a travel overseas, digital camera, air purifier, bike etc.

The design of the stamps represents snake, next year’s zodiac, in a form of folk toys. The first stamp illustrates a lucky bag, the second one features the porcelain snake doll. Both souvenirs are intended to bring luck to their owners in the coming year.
