This year's third stamp issue from Swiss Post is as colourful as autumn itself. Swiss artist Peter Stampfli has created three special stamps in recognition of the 50th anniversary of the pop art movement.
Precisely 50 years ago, Andy Warhol's Campbell's soup can marked the beginning of the brilliant pop art movement. Swiss Post pays homage to this anniversary with three special stamps: James Bond, Bond Street and Pudding.
Three other special stamps from the current range issued have been designed by Franz Gertsch, one of Switzerland's most important contemporary artists. The master of large-scale photorealism has captured his work on the smallest stamp format this time around. Gertsch's subjects focus on local nature, e.g. common grass and the weed butterbur. With his postal creations, he shows how even supposedly small wonders of nature can have a large effect in a tiny space - on a stamp.
