Latvijas Pasts has been awarded the bronze medal of the International Olympic Committee for the stamp dedicated to the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and Latvia's participation in them. The stamp depicts players of Latvia's favorite winter sport - hockey. The stamp was designed by the artist Ludis Danilāns.

Stamps were evaluated and Latvijas Pasts was nominated for the award by the Olympic Philately and Numismatic Commission of the International Olympic Committee.

A total of 300,000 stamps dedicated to the Vancouver Olympics were printed, and they enjoyed great popularity among philatelists and other enthusiasts. The stamps are no longer available via regular retail channels, but they can be purchased in small quantities by contacting the Philately Department of Latvijas Pasts. The denomination of one stamp is LVL 0.55, corresponding to the cost of mailing a regular letter within the European Union.

In anticipation of the XXX Summer Olympic Games in London, Latvijas Pasts will again issue a stamp dedicated to sports this year.
