The Korean Post has issued a set of stamps dedicated to the 2011 Korea Philatelic Exhibition, held from July 28 to August 1 under the theme of "the culture of the global village that you can encounter through stamps."
The Exhibition aimed to stimulate the imagination of visitors by displaying various stamps: 450 frames of stamp exhibits; twenty or so of the Korean stamps that are internationally considered as rare stamps.
In the Global Village Special Exhibition Room where mailmen uniforms of each country were introduced, the visitors could get a glimpse of what the culture and life are like in countries around the world. Children visitors could participate in "I'm a stamp designer, too!" program, where they designed a stamp together with the stamp designers. Visitors also accessed opportunities involving stamps by participating in lectures on stamp collection and on letter-writing, finding treasures hidden among stamp exhibits, quiz on stamp culture, etc.
