Monaco's Stamp Issuing Office will issue five stamps and a souvenir stamp card on the occasion of the marriage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II and Miss Charlene Wittstock. They will be on sale in Monaco on 1 and 2 July at the Museum of Stamps and Coins and in the Office's three sales outlets (Rue Princesse Caroline and Post Offices in Monte-Carlo and Monaco old town.)
The souvenir presentation card, with a design by Gueorgui Chikhine, will be sold exclusively at the Stamp Issuing Office for 5ˆ.
Series of stamps are available in four colours corresponding to different postage rates for a 20 gr. letter: Ecopli (non-urgent mail) 0.55ˆ, rate for France 0.60ˆ, rate for Europe 0.77ˆ, and the rate for the rest of the world at 8.89ˆ.
A design by Pierre Albuisson, Cyril de la Patelliere and Claude Andreotto - a souvenir postmark will be available on 1 and 2 July, as well as a first day cover envelope at 6.50ˆ.
Finally, a stamp with monochrome engraving and gold tooling will be available by direct sale only on 1 and 2 July. There will not be a first day cover - the stamp will be offered
- in a sheet of 10 (not for sale singly)
- on a souvenir envelope printed in 2,000 numbered examples for 10ˆ
- in a diptych containing 5 stamps and limited edition of 500 numbered copies for 50ˆ
