Posta Slovenije (Post of Slovenia) is issuing a new stamp designed by Matjaz Ucakar celebrating the 80th anniversary of the premiere of the first Slovenian full-length (partially) acted film, In the Realm of the Goldenhorn.
This movie was the result of the enthusiasm of the leaders and members of the Skala Tourism Club hiking association. It was directed by music professor Janko Ravnik, an amateur photographer and the long-time president of the Skala club.
The movie is part of the mountain film genre, a sort of Alpine western with elements of patriotic film. Both of these genres were very popular in Central Europe in the twenties and thirties, especially in Germany. Mountain films were also very popular in Slovenia.
