Many sport-themed stamps issued last year were to some extent dedicated to FIFA World Cup 2010. Four of them by the editorial team’s opinion are worthy to top the rate.

FIFA World Cup 2010 Stamps by Slovakia, Ecuador, South Africa and Portugal
In June 2010, Slovak Post issued a lenticular stamp and a miniature sheet to celebrate the country's first finals appearance at the FIFA World Cup 2010. The stamp designed by Ivana Sarah Avni features a footballer striking the ball.
This 3D miniature sheet by Ecuador, issued in June 2010, is also dedicated to the FIFA World Cup 2010.
The sheet features World Cup Mascot Zakumi and African animals. Thus Ecuador underlines the Africanness of the Championship which took place in South Africa from 11 June to 11 July 2010.
The design of this official South African stamp sheet for the 2010 FIFA World Cup resembles a soccer ball and features circular stamps with the FIFA logo and trophy as well as the Adidas ball, the Jabulani used in the football matches for the World Cup.
This World Cup stamp was issued in May 2010 by Portugal. The stamp is round like a ball and the design features leopard skin.
Olympic Winter Games stamps from USA and Hungary
The US Postal Service issued this stamp featuring an illustration of a snowboarder in January 2010.
The XXI Olympic Winter Games were held Feb. 12-28 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
In 2010, Hungary Post also released a special stamp celebrating the Winter Olympics.
The stamp image includes a skiing figure expressing the joy of victory and the Vancouver Olympic logo on the upper right-hand side.
Stamp in Honor of Nodar Kumaritashvili from Georgia + Linger Brothers on Austrian Stamps
This stamp in honor of a Georgian luger Nodar Kumaritashvili was issued in 2010 by Georgian Post.
Kumaritashvili suffered a fatal crash during a training run for the 2010 Winter Olympics competition in Vancouver, Canada, on the day of the opening ceremony. He was the fourth athlete to ever die during the Winter Olympics preparations.
The stamp displays Kumaritashvili's famous photo on Vancouver training track.
This Austrian stamp dedicated to Andreas and Wolfgang Linger was issued in September 2010.
The Linger brothers from Absam in Tyrol have been a widely known duo in the world of sports at the latest since their Olympic victory four years ago in Turin. The successful defence of their title in Vancouver, their second Olympic gold, made them into genuine superstars.
#4. Klitschko Brothers on Ukrainian stamp
In 2010, the Ukrainian National Post Office issued a postage stamp commemorating famous Ukrainian heavyweight boxers Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko.
The stamp is worth $1.50 in US funds.
#5. Royal Mail's London 2012 stamps
This set of the Royal Mail's London 2012 Olympics and Paralympic Games stamps feature work by ten different illustrators across ten stamps.
Each stamp depicts one of 29 Olympic and Paralympic sports.
#6. Formula 1 stamp by Hungary
This special stamp by Hungary Post is dedicated to the 25th Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix.
Racecars appear as the main motif of the graphic composition. It also includes the logo welcoming the quarter century anniversary, the silhouette of the Hungaroring track and the official logo of Formula 1.
#7. Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games Stamps
On 14 August 2010, the Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee in collaboration with the Singapore Post launched four Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games stamps.
The stamps feature the Singapore 2010 Mascots, Lyo and Merly, in poses showcasing the Culture and Education Programme (CEP) and Singapore 2010 Sports - Swimming and Basketball.
#8. Chinese Stamps celebrating Asian Games Opening Ceremony
In 2010, China Post issued a series of commemorative stamps celebrating the Opening Ceremony of the 16th Asian Games in Guangzhou.
Featuring Badminton, Wushu, Athletics, Equestrian, Dragon Boat and Weiqi, these stamps were printed in photogravure and issued in different sizes.
#9. 40 Years of Guernsey at the Commonwealth Games
To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Guernsey's participation at the Commonwealth Games, these stamps - depicting images of Athletics, Cycling, Shooting, Aquatics, Lawn Bowls and Tennis - were designed to convey the passion, professionalism and sheer determination of Guernsey's athletes.
#10. Novak Djokovic postage stamp from Serbia
In 2010, Serbia issued a set of stamps honoring Novak Djokovic and the rest of his Davis Cup winning team-mates - Viktor Troicki, Janko Tipsarevic and Nenad Zimonjic.
It's an honour Roger Federer has also received in the past in his native Switzerland.
