Wichita State grad designs U.S. postage stamp

A Wichita State University graduate has designed a U.S. postage stamp that celebrates neon.

Michael Flechtner was asked to do the neon stamp after U.S. Postal Service art director Phil Jordan saw Flechtner's work hanging at the Museum of Neon Art in Los Angeles. Flechtner graduated from Wichita State in 1984 with a master's degree in fine arts.

The stamp, featuring neon fireworks, will be released March 25. It's touted for use on celebratory mailings such as greeting cards and invitations.
