In early September the India Post issued a stamp commemorating Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, popularly known in India as YSR.
He was a two-time Chief Minister of the state of Andhra Pradesh of India. He was seen as the best Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh due to his work for the rural masses. He holds the record of not losing any election throughout his political career. In 2003 he undertook a three-month-long paadayaatra, or walking tour of 1475 km in hot summer, across several districts in Andhra Pradesh. After such an extraordinary action he led his party to victory in the next general and assembly elections and got national respect.
