This joint issue is dedicated to the Annual Frankfurt Book Fair and its Guest of Honour, Argentinean writer Jorge Louis Borges.
The history of the Frankfurt Book Fair traces back to the 15th century. At that time, Johannes Gutenberg invented the printing press. The Book Fair in Frankfurt is now the largest of its kind in the world. At one time annually the sponsors proclaim a special guest of the Fair. In 2010 this is Argentina. The world-famous writer Jorge Louis Borges not only Argentinean by origin but he also refers Germany where he lived a large part of his life.
The stamps feature the portrait of Borges hidden behind the maze which forms the letter "B" in the name of the writer.
