The Canadian stamps issued in honour of the Olympic Games in Vancouver come out on top.
Canada: Vancouver 2010 Winter Games Mascots and Emblems
This series was issued in January, 2009. The stamps showcase the official Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games and Paralympic Winter Games emblems as well as the three mascots: Miga, Quatchi and Sumi.
Royal Mail: Olympic stamps from London
These stamps were issued by Royal Mail to celebrate the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The set was unveiled in October, 2009.
Germany: IAAF World Championships in Athletics - Berlin 2009
In March, 2009, Germany issued four postage stamps commemorating 12th IAAF World Championships in Athletics - Berlin 2009.
The German Minister of Finance also presented the 10-euro commemorative coin.
#4. Canadian Inventions: Sports
These stamps celebrate four Canadian inventions in the world of sport: basketball, five-pin bowling, lacrosse and ringette.
#5. Isle of Man: Honda - 50 Years of World Championship Racing
This set of 6 stamps was issued in May, 2009 to mark the 50th anniversary of Honda's participation at the Isle of Man TT Races.
The set focuses on Honda's racing achievements on the Island since 1959.
#6. Hong Kong - Brazil Joint Issue on Football
This joint issue depicts the different playing styles of Hong Kong and Brazilian footballers.
#7. Aland: Island Games
This stamp was dedicated to the largest international sporting event in Aland - the NatWest Island Games XIII.
It shows a sprinter setting off from an Aland granite rock. The background colours are the same as those of the Aland flag.
#8. San Marino: Mediterranean Games
This philatelic set was issued in June, 2009 to commemorate the 16th Mediterranean Games.
The stamps depict simply sketched figures, which single out and interpret movement, physical effort and competitive tension.
#9. Malta: The XIIIth Games of the Small States of Europe
In June, 2009 Malta Post issued a set of five stamps dedicated to the XIIIth Games of the Small States of Europe.
This set feature five of the various disciplines in which the Maltese team excels in such Games. These are Sailing, Judo, Shooting, Swimming and Athletics.
All stamps include a colored strip which represents the continents colors as represented in the official Olympic logo. The Cyprus 2009 logo is also included in the design.
#10. Isle of Man: Stamps celebrate Lewis Hamilton's F1 success
In January, 2009, the Isle of Man Post Office issued six stamps to mark Lewis Hamilton's F1 world championship win.
The stamp collection is entitled Lewis Hamilton – Formula One World Champion and includes a first day cover, presentation pack and special sheet folder.
The packs also have a review of Hamilton's outstanding achievement by legendary TV commentator Murray Walker OBE.
