Apex Philatelic Auctions (www.apexstamps.com) will be holding their Centenary auction on the 14th May 2010, to coincide with the year's International Stamp Exhibition taking place in London - the world's philatelic capital.

The auction will feature around 500 lots of high quality world stamps with emphasis on British and Colonial. The International Stamp Exhibition will open on the 6th May, the anniversary date of the famous Penny Black stamp (first issued on 6th May 1840).

The exhibition is only held once every ten years and this year is part of a year long celebration of stamps, stamp design and postal heritage organised by The British Postal Museum and Archive.

Established in 1994, Apex became the most recent acquisition for expanding collectables investment firm, Noble Investments (UK) Plc in early 2008.

Ian Goldbart, Managing Director of Noble Investments (UK), spoke of the announcement of the first ever London auction 'It is a first in many ways for Apex as it is not only their first London public auction but also the first that will be live online allowing customers the ability to watch and bid online during the auction.'
