The Monterey Bay Aquarium will be helping the U.S. Postal Service kick off National Stamp Collection Month on Thursday by unveiling a new stamp collection under water.
A large pane featuring the new "Nature of America: Kelp Forest" stamp series will be unveiled in the Kelp Forest exhibit by aquarium divers.
The public will be allowed in the Kelp Gallery to watch the ceremony and can pick up first-day-of-issue souvenirs at the event.
Those who can't go to the aquarium physically will be able to view the unveiling of the stamp pane by going to the Monterey Bay Aquarium's Web site, where livestreaming video will be set up.
The stamp pane showcases 27 fish, plants and animals from the Kelp Forest ecosystem.
