The U.S. Postal Service dedicated a new stamp Thursday honoring Missouri and its state flag. The new stamp has Missouri's red, white and blue striped flag attached to a pole on the left side of the stamp. Below the flag is a city skyline set alongside a brown river. On the right, a paddle wheel river boat with smoke coming from its stacks churns down the river.

The Missouri stamp is one of 10 included in the third edition featuring state flags.

The series also features the state flags of Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, and as an added bonus, the Stars and Stripes.
