On 18th May 2008, Jersey Post will issue a Miniature Sheet to commemorate the 18th World Jersey Cattle Bureau Conference being held in Jersey. The WJCB Conference is 'Coming Home' in 2008 and it is the first time it has been held at the home of the breed for twenty-eight years.
The 'Jersey' is the second largest breed of dairy cattle in the world and the only breed allowed on the Island of Jersey since 1878 when a law was passed to prohibit the importation of any bovine animals to protect the breed. Nowadays, it is thought that 'Jerseys' may be found in virtually every country around the world.
The Miniature Sheet features an excellent specimen of a Jersey Bull, 'Mermaid's Warrior Count'.
