On 8 May, Iceland Post will issue its Europa postage stamps following PostEurop's chosen theme for 2008 - 'The Letter'.
The stamp motifs symbolize an exchange of letters between a little girl and her grandfather. The designer, Orn Smari Gislason, states that behind these motifs there is an interesting little story. In one letter the little girl tells her grandfather about a boat-trip that she has made with her parents. In his reply the grandfather recounts his very first trip on an aeroplane.
